Shaurya Malaviya is a Barrister specializing in Regulatory, Criminal and Employment law. His key focus area is defending prosecutions or civil action by Government agencies. He offers advocacy and representation to individuals and small to medium-sized businesses in disputes with Government agencies or those facing regulatory action. Shaurya also handles criminal matters, including traffic violations, fraud, drug offences, and family violence cases.
In addition to litigation, Shaurya advises businesses on obtaining approvals from Government agencies, such as liquor licensing and building resource consents.

Leveraging his extensive public sector experience as a legal advisor, prosecutor, investigator, and manager, Shaurya assists businesses in formulating risk management strategies to protect against future compliance actions. He also conducts employment and code of conduct investigations for corporate clients.
Before joining the public sector, Shaurya worked as a Junior Barrister in Criminal and Civil Litigation in Auckland, appearing in various New Zealand courts and tribunals, including the Court of Appeal, Family Court, and High Court.
In addition to his practice, Shaurya serves as a Referee for the Dispute Tribunal and as an Adjudicator for the Motor Vehicles Disputes Tribunal.
Shaurya is fluent in Hindi and conversant in Punjabi.
